Swish's Wishes
Barry participated with the Oakland A's star Nick Swisher in the first "Nick Swisher Celebrity Bash" held recently at Pyramid Alehouse & Restaurant in Berkeley.
The high profile fundraising event raised $75,000 to help children in need of vital health and medical care through Swisher's new non-profit foundation, "Swish's Wishes" and Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland.
The majority of the A's roster was in attendance with stars Huston Street, Joe Blanton, Travis Buck, and Chad Gaudin helping both Barry and Nick with the celebrity bartending duties as well as with the silent and live auction.

Barry Featured In Home Town Park City Record
Barry was featured last week in his hometown newspaper, the Park City Record, in Park City, Utah. This wonderful story traces Barry’s footsteps, that began in Park City, and has led him to the professional ranks of the NFL and the Oakland Raiders. The veteran Sims has been a mainstay on the Raiders offensive line for the last eight years and, has reached a career milestone of 100 professional starts and 65 consecutive games.

OAKLAND, Calif. (October 3, 2006) – Oakland Raiders offensive lineman Barry Sims, will reach a career milestone this week when he makes his 100th career start and 65th consecutive start in an Oakland Raiders uniform, the most consecutive starts of any active player on the team. Today Barry announced the launch of his new personal website www.BarrySims.net, offering fans an insiders look into Sims and the Silver and Black.
Visitors to the site will find background on Barry’s path to the NFL, his experiences playing in NFL Europe before joining the Raiders in 1999, and audio links to his three national radio shows on Fox Sports Radio, NFL on Sirius and ESPN Radio. The site also includes links to his second year of weekly columns in FHM Magazine where Barry gives honest insight into his life as an NFL player and member of the Oakland Raiders.
“The Raider fans have been very good to me during my eight years living and playing here in the Bay Area,” said Sims. “This website is my way of further connecting with them and giving them an up close look as to what I’m experiencing on and off the field. I encourage people to visit my site for weekly updates throughout the season.”

Raiders Begin Off-Season Workout Program
